JAMB ANNOUNCE NEW EXAM DATE

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a government agency responsible for conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which serves as the primary gateway for admission into higher institutions of learning in Nigeria. Recently, the board announced a new date for the UTME for the 2022/2023 academic session, and this has generated mixed reactions from candidates, parents, and stakeholders in the education sector.

The initial date for the UTME was scheduled to hold on March 5, 2022, but it was postponed due to technical reasons and the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). This left candidates in a state of uncertainty and confusion, as they were left wondering when the exam would take place. However, JAMB has now announced that the new date for the UTME will be from Saturday, April 30 to Saturday, May 14, 2022.

This announcement has been greeted with a mixture of relief, excitement, and anxiety among candidates. On the one hand, candidates who have been preparing for the exam for months are relieved that they finally have a new date to work towards. They are also excited at the prospect of finally taking the exam and beginning their journey towards achieving their academic dreams.

On the other hand, there is anxiety among some candidates who are worried that the new date may clash with other important events, such as weddings, funerals, or religious activities. There are also concerns about the impact of the ongoing ASUU strike on the exam, as some candidates may have missed important lectures and classes due to the strike.

Despite these concerns, JAMB has assured candidates that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and successful examination process. The board has also emphasized that it is committed to ensuring that the exam is conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

Candidates are advised to visit the JAMB website to print their examination slip, which will contain important information such as the date, time, and venue of the exam.

As the exam draws closer, candidates are encouraged to intensify their preparation and make use of available resources such as JAMB past questions, study materials, and tutorials. They should also ensure that they are registered for the exam and have paid their registration fees.

In conclusion, the new date for the JAMB exam has been announced, and candidates should take note of the revised schedule. While there may be some concerns and anxieties, it is important to remain focused and determined towards achieving academic success. We wish all candidates the best of luck and success in their upcoming exams.
